All this comments are very common, specially now. Just be careful with the advertising and the way they persuade us.
Check your mail and your email account, and see all the promotions, events and coupons that are you going to get this week to invite you to spend your money next week. Look next to your door, You will find at lot of paper of ads of the big sales. For sure we can find better deals in January. Go away in Christmas and you don't have to give any gift to anyone like me this year. Just vacation for me.
